Friday, June 8, 2012  Daily Update

This is turning out to be an interesting week and there’s still a day to go.

I’m really glad the weekend is ahead. Since I’m in my planting season, it will be mostly a working one. But I am taking some time to watch at least some of the extended version of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series.  (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo etc.) I had read the 3 books as they were released in English, but I wanted to get some distance before watching the movies. I may also try to see The Headhunters since it’s still playing locally and this may be the last weekend. I guess it will be a weekend of subtitles!

Women Who Should Be Famous – Role Models

Life gets surreal sometimes. Yesterday, I was contacted by Dove to be part of their Women Who Should be Famous movement. On June 26th, Dove and celebrity Mandy Moore will be shining a spotlight on four remarkable female role models: women who should be famous, through a live-streamed event in Toronto. A positive role model can make a world of difference by helping a girl develop a positive relationship with beauty and encourage her to achieve her full potential. I’ve been invited to bring a special young girl with me to be a part of it. I didn’t know for sure whether or not I would do it. For one, I hadn’t planned on returning to Canada for a bit longer.  But I really love with Dove is trying to do. I believe in the message. It’s a huge honor to be a part of this.

I shared the news on my personal Facebook page here. Friends have been incredibly supportive. Feel free to leave a comment there if you want.

Busting Domain Industry Misconceptions

I wrote an op ed piece about the misconceptions of the domain industry and the role that domain investors play. It’s gotten a lot of buzz. Many people in the industry have said someone needed to do this. Many not in the industry said it helped changed their perspective on things. Read it and, if you feel inclined, comment and share it. Here’s the post.

My list of things that need to get done is already longer than the hours I have available so I’m off.

Have a fabulous day friends!

xoxo

Sharon
